What Eklipse really costs
Our listing records Eklipse's pricing as Paid plans from around $12.50/month billed annually (Premium; about $24.99 month-to-month) (paid pricing).
What you actually pay depends on the plan you pick, how much you create, and — on tools that meter usage — how many attempts you discard along the way. A cheap entry plan that meters every generation can cost more in a heavy month than a flat subscription.
We do not publish a per-minute cost estimate for Eklipse: we only publish per-unit figures derived from official pricing pages, and Eklipse is not one of the tools our calculator models numerically yet. Treat the entry price as a floor, not a monthly total.

What is Eklipse?
Eklipse is a clipping tool built for one audience: people who stream games. Connect a Twitch, Kick, YouTube Live or Facebook channel and, when a stream ends, Eklipse scans the recording for the moments worth posting — clutches, multi-kills, comebacks, wins and big reactions — then reframes them into vertical, captioned clips for TikTok, YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels. Its detection is the differentiator: instead of relying on speech alone like podcast clippers, it scores moments using gameplay events, audio spikes such as excitement and laughter, and chat sentiment such as emote spikes and message velocity. It supports more than 3,000 games, with detection tuned per game category, and it works for console streamers whose Xbox or PS5 sessions run through Twitch or YouTube — no capture card, no second PC.
The second thing to know is the business-model change, because most of the internet has not caught up. Eklipse used to be freemium, and countless guides still quote its old free tier — 720p exports, 15 clips per stream, a watermark. Eklipse's own blog now corrects the record directly: the free clipping tier ended in June 2026 and the product is paid, fronted by a free preview that scans your stream and unlocks a couple of clips so you can judge detection quality on your own gameplay. Its standalone browser tools (emote, panel and badge makers, a caption generator, VOD downloaders) remain genuinely free, but they are not the clipping product.
How Eklipse works
- 1Create a free account — no card needed — and connect your Twitch, Kick, YouTube or Facebook channel (multiple channels can sit on one account).
- 2Run the free preview on a recent stream: Eklipse scans it, surfaces the moments it found and unlocks a couple of clips so you can judge whether its picks match yours.
- 3If the picks are right, subscribe to Premium (annual billing is roughly half the monthly price) to unlock exporting and the full clip set.
- 4Let Content Agent work after each stream ends: it pulls your best moments, reframes them to 9:16, writes captions and queues them for TikTok, Shorts and Reels for your approval.
- 5Polish in the built-in editor or with AI Edit, which reframes while keeping crosshairs, killfeeds and facecams in frame; adjust captions and templates to taste.
- 6Publish from the Content Planner to TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels and Facebook, or download clips — remembering monthly-plan clips are stored 14 days (90 on annual), so export what you want to keep.
Core features
Gameplay-aware highlight detection
Moments are scored from three signal types — in-game events (kills, wins, achievements), audio spikes (excitement, laughter) and chat sentiment (emote spikes, message velocity). That is a fundamentally different detector from speech-based clippers, and it is why Eklipse works on gameplay with little commentary.
3,000+ game support
Highlight detection tuned per game category across more than 3,000 games, per Eklipse's FAQ — from shooters to sports titles — rather than one generic model for everything.
Content Agent autopilot
When a stream ends, Content Agent pulls the best moments, reframes to 9:16, writes captions and queues posts for TikTok, Shorts and Reels for approval. AI Edit keeps crosshairs, killfeeds and facecams in frame during reframing.
'Clip it' voice marking and console support
Mark a moment mid-game by voice without stopping play, and clip Xbox and PS5 streams that run through Twitch or YouTube with no capture card. A mobile app (iPhone and Android) covers reviewing, trimming, captioning and posting away from the desk.
Editor, captions and templates
Finished clips are editable before publishing: trim, adjust the auto-generated captions, change templates and modify highlights. Exports are vertical 9:16 with editable captions, and annual plans add 1080p lossless export, per Eklipse's FAQ.
Non-gaming streams too
Eklipse states it also clips podcasts, talk shows, Just Chatting, reaction and IRL streams — detection is optimized for gaming, but the pipeline is not games-only.
The free plan — the full truth
The honest headline is Eklipse's own: there is no free clipping plan anymore. Its blog post 'Is Eklipse free?', updated in 2026, states that the free tier — 720p exports, one stream per day, up to 15 clips per stream, 14-day storage, a watermark on every clip — ended in June 2026, and warns that anything describing those quotas, including Eklipse's own older page, is out of date. We are repeating that correction here because this catalog's research notes still carried the old free-tier description, and it would be easy to publish a wrong review from them.
What remains free is narrower but well designed. Account creation costs nothing and needs no card. The homepage preview scans a recent stream, shows the moments the AI found and unlocks a couple of them — enough to answer the only question that matters before paying, which is whether the detector finds your good moments. Everything in the core workflow sits behind Premium: exporting and downloading clips, 1080p watermark-free output, vertical reformatting, the editor and AI Edit, the Content Publisher and longer storage. The separate browser tools (emote, panel, badge and thumbnail makers, caption generator, Twitch and Kick VOD downloaders) are free with no login, but they are utilities, not a clipping plan. There is also no time-limited free trial — the preview is the trial.
- • No free clipping plan since June 2026 (Eklipse's own blog)
- • Free preview unlocks only a couple of clips from one scanned stream; exporting requires Premium
- • No time-limited free trial exists — the preview replaces it
- • Old free-tier quotas quoted elsewhere (720p, 15 clips/stream, watermark) describe a discontinued product
- • Paid-plan clip storage is short: 14 days on monthly plans, 90 days on annual (Eklipse FAQ)
Eklipse pricing plans
| Plan | Price | Credits included | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Premium | About $24.99/month on monthly billing, or roughly $12.50/month billed annually | Full clipping and exporting; 1080p watermark-free exports, with 1080p lossless export on annual plans (Eklipse FAQ) | Streamers who clip every session and want the detector plus autopilot queue |
| Premium Pro | $39.99/month | Higher tier above Premium — exact allowances are shown at checkout, as Eklipse publishes no pricing page | High-volume or multi-channel streamers who hit Premium's limits |
Pricing checked Nov 2026 from Eklipse's own pages: its homepage FAQ lists Premium from $24.99/month and Premium Pro at $39.99/month, and its official pricing explainer gives Premium at roughly $12.50/month billed annually. Eklipse no longer publishes a standalone pricing page and runs promotions, so the binding figure is the one shown at checkout — treat the annual figure as approximate, as Eklipse itself does.
Pros
- + Detection built for gameplay — events, audio and chat — not repurposed speech clipping
- + The free preview tests detection on your own stream, which is the honest way to evaluate a clipper
- + Content Agent turns each finished stream into a queued week of vertical clips automatically
- + Console streamers are covered via Twitch/YouTube with no extra hardware
- + Eklipse publicly corrected its own outdated free-tier pages — a good sign for a vendor's honesty
Cons
- − No free plan and no free trial anymore — the preview is all you get before paying
- − No public pricing page; exact current rates only appear at checkout
- − Clip storage is short (14 days monthly, 90 days annual) for a paid product
- − Most third-party guides still describe the dead free tier, so research is confusing
Best for
- ✓ Twitch, Kick and YouTube gaming streamers posting clips daily
- ✓ Console streamers on Xbox and PS5 who stream through Twitch or YouTube
- ✓ Streamers whose best moments are gameplay, not commentary
- ✓ Creators who want clips queued automatically after every stream
Not ideal for
- ✕ Anyone budgeting for a free clipping tier — it no longer exists
- ✕ Podcast-first creators (speech-based clippers fit better as a first choice)
- ✕ Streamers who need long-term clip archives inside the tool
Eklipse alternatives
See all alternatives →Within this batch, Quso.ai is the generalist alternative — speech-based clipping with scheduling and analytics under a published credit ladder, better for talk content than gameplay. OpusClip remains the benchmark for talking-head and podcast clipping with virality scoring. StreamLadder, also new to our catalog, takes the narrower streamer route of converting existing Twitch and YouTube clips into vertical formats. Eklipse's moat against all of them is detection: if your highlights are kills and clutches rather than quotable sentences, it is the tool actually built to find them.
Pictory
Pictory converts a script, blog post or long video into a short narrated video by matching stock visuals to each line of text. It is popular with marketers and faceless channels that repurpose written content into video with minimal editing skill.
OpusClip
OpusClip analyses long videos and podcasts, scores moments for viral potential and produces captioned vertical clips with reframing. It is one of the most used tools by podcasters and streamers repurposing long content into Shorts, Reels and TikToks.
Vizard converts long recordings into multiple short, captioned clips, detecting speakers and highlights automatically. It is popular with marketing teams, coaches and agencies that produce shorts from webinars, podcasts and meetings in bulk.
