Our verdict
Best for creators and businesses localising video into Indian and global languages on a published per-minute credit rate — small monthly allowances, so best for short, frequent content rather than long catalogues.

What Dubverse really costs
Dubverse publishes its credit rates, so the real price of a dubbed minute is simple arithmetic. Dubbing costs 4 credits per minute. Pro is $18/month for 50 credits, so those 50 credits buy 12.5 minutes of dubbing — $18 ÷ 12.5 = $1.44 per finished dubbed minute, if you spend every credit on dubbing and nothing on subtitles or voiceovers.
Billed annually, Pro drops to $9/month for the same 50 credits, which halves the rate to about $0.72 per dubbed minute. Subtitling (1 credit/minute) and voiceovers (2 credits/minute) are cheaper draws on the same pool.
$1.44
Per dubbed minute on Pro monthly ($18 ÷ 12.5 minutes from 50 credits at 4 credits/min)
$0.72
Per dubbed minute on Pro billed annually ($9/month for the same 50 credits)
12.5 min
Dubbing included in a 50-credit month if credits are spent on dubbing only
Rates from Dubverse's published credit pricing (4 credits per dubbed minute; 50 credits per plan month), checked Nov 2026. Mixing in subtitles or voiceovers changes the blend; re-renders of sections also consume credits.
What is Dubverse?
Dubverse is a web-based localisation platform with three tools that share one credit balance: DUB, which re-voices an existing video in another language; SUB, which generates synced subtitles; and SAY, its text-to-speech voiceover generator. You upload a video or paste a script, Dubverse transcribes and translates it, and you can edit the transcript, swap speakers and re-render sections before downloading. It was built in India, and that origin is its real differentiator — its voice library and translation quality are strongest exactly where global tools are often weakest, in Indian languages and Indian-accented English.
The platform also sells the voices separately through an API, with two named text-to-speech models and per-character pricing, which makes Dubverse as much a voice infrastructure company as a creator tool. For a creator, the practical shape is simple: short videos, dubbed often, in a handful of languages. The credit maths (below) shows why — the self-serve plans are sized for minutes per month, not hours. Businesses dubbing a whole course catalogue will be talking to the Enterprise tier, which adds custom voice models, human review and lip syncing.
How Dubverse works
- 1Start the 2-day free trial — no credit card is required — and upload a short video you actually intend to publish.
- 2Choose DUB for a re-voiced version, SUB for subtitles only, and pick the target language and speaker voice.
- 3Review the auto-generated transcript and translation before rendering; Dubverse's Transcript Customizer exists because fixing words here is cheaper than re-dubbing later.
- 4Render the dub, then use Redo by Range or Repeat Segments to fix the sections that sound wrong instead of regenerating the whole video.
- 5Check the credit cost against your plan: dubbing burns 4 credits per minute, so a 10-minute video uses 40 of your 50 monthly credits.
- 6Download the finished video — paid plans list unlimited downloads and no watermark.
Core features
AI video dubbing (DUB)
Re-voices your video in another language from an editable transcript. Pro covers videos under 60 minutes with GPT-3.5 Hawk translations; Supreme raises that to 150 minutes and GPT-4 Eagle translations.
Subtitles (SUB)
Auto-generated, synced subtitles at 1 credit per minute — the cheapest job on the platform. Supreme adds custom animated subtitle styles and VTT/XML downloads.
Text-to-speech (SAY)
Voiceovers from text at 2 credits per minute, from a library Dubverse puts at 200+ voices across age, gender, tone and dialect, including mix-language scripts such as Hinglish.
Voice cloning
Clone a voice so dubbed versions still sound like the original speaker. Included on Supreme; part of custom Enterprise setups at larger scale.
Transcript editing tools
Transcript Customizer, Redo by Range and Repeat Segments let you repair a section of a dub rather than paying to regenerate the whole file.
Developer API
A documented text-to-speech API with two models (Neo.One and Candy. Two) priced per 1,000 characters — for apps and workflows, not just the web studio.
The free plan — the full truth
Dubverse has no free plan, and it is better to say that plainly than to dress the trial up as one. What exists is a 2-day free trial with no credit card required. Two days is enough to dub one real video, listen critically to the voices in your target language, and check the credit maths against your publishing schedule. It is not enough to run a channel on.
What the trial does not settle from Dubverse's published pages is whether trial output carries a watermark — the paid plans explicitly list 'No Water Mark', and we could not confirm the trial's watermark or download terms from an official page this session, so treat trial files as test renders until you have seen one. The paid reality is clearer: Pro and Supreme both list no watermark, no project expiry and unlimited downloads.
- • No free plan — free access is a 2-day trial only
- • Trial watermark and download terms could not be confirmed from an official page this session
- • 50 credits/month on paid plans equals about 12.5 minutes of dubbing
- • Voice cloning requires the Supreme plan
- • Lip sync and human review are Enterprise-only

| Pro | $18/month ($9/month billed annually) | 50 credits/month — about 12.5 min of dubbing, 50 min of subtitling or 25 min of voiceover | Creators dubbing short videos into a few languages each month |

Plans, credit rates and prices are from Dubverse's official pricing page, checked Nov 2026. Both paid plans list the same 50 credits/month — Supreme buys features (cloning, GPT-4, priority), not more minutes.

Dubverse alternatives
See all alternatives →Perso AI is the closest alternative in this batch: its Starter plan is cheaper ($6.99/month) and its per-minute model rates go far lower at volume, though its free tier is a single watermarked minute. For avatar-led localisation rather than dubbing existing footage, HeyGen and Synthesia both translate presenter videos with lip sync as a core feature, at higher entry prices. Rask AI is the other purpose-built dubbing tool in this catalogue if you want a minutes-based plan instead of credits. All are listed with the same checked pricing approach we use here.
HeyGen
HeyGen turns a script into a video of a realistic digital presenter, with a large avatar library, voice cloning and translation features. It is widely used for marketing videos, product explainers and social content where a human-like presenter is needed without filming.
Synthesia
Synthesia is an enterprise-focused avatar video platform used heavily for training and internal communication. It offers a large stock avatar library, personal avatars, multi-language narration and compliance and admin features that larger organisations require.
Kapwing
Kapwing is a browser-based video editor built for teams: a shared workspace, brand kit and real-time collaboration wrapped around capable AI tools for auto-subtitling, dubbing, text-to-speech, lip sync and clean audio. Its newer AI drafting turns a prompt into a multi-layer editable project, so it works both as a finisher for recorded footage and as a starting point for new content.
