Our verdict
Best for brands and agencies that test ad creative weekly — a deep actor library, your product in hand, and an API on every plan, with no free tier to hide behind.

What MakeUGC really costs
The sticker price is $29 a month — but the sticker is rarely the whole bill. Starter billed annually, 500 credits/month; credits work across UGC actors and cinematic models, API included.
On a credit-based plan, what you actually pay depends on how many generations you throw away, because rejected takes still burn credits. Budget per finished clip, not per generation.
We do not publish a per-unit figure for MakeUGC here: its rates vary by model and settings, and we only publish per-unit numbers that can be derived from an official rate card. The entry price above is from MakeUGC's public pricing, checked Nov 2026 — treat it as a floor, not a monthly total.

What is MakeUGC?
MakeUGC began as a UGC ad generator and now presents itself as a full AI video ad studio. The core loop is unchanged and well aimed: pick from a large library of AI actors — or clone yourself — give the actor a script typed, pasted or drafted by AI from your product page, optionally place your product in the actor's hand from a photo, and render a creator-style ad in about two minutes. Captions, music, B-roll and trims are finished in the built-in editor, and batch mode produces ten variations at once for testing.
What has grown around that loop is breadth. The same credit balance now runs cinematic text and image-to-video across leading models, cartoon and gaming styles, image ads and product shots, a Content Library of proven UGC formats you can remake with your own product, and AI Flows — a node canvas that chains image generation, product shots, video and editing into a repeatable pipeline you can run across a catalogue. For an agency, the included API matters as much as the studio: generation can be driven programmatically on the same credits.
How MakeUGC works
- 1Start any plan for $1 — Starter ($29/month billed yearly) is the sensible test — and note the renewal price and trial duration shown at checkout, since the plan renews unless cancelled.
- 2Start from what you have: pick an actor, clone yourself from a short clip, start from a prompt or product URL, or remake a proven format from the Content Library with your product and dialogue.
- 3Write or generate the script, upload your audio if you have it, and add a product photo for Product in Hand shots.
- 4Generate — renders take about two minutes — then finish in the editor: captions, music, B-roll and trims.
- 5Export at your plan's quality (Starter tops out at 720p; Growth and Pro reach HD, 2K and 4K) or batch ten variations for an ad test.
- 6Scale through AI Flows or the API when the same format must run across many products, rather than hand-making each variation.
Core features
AI actors and self-cloning
300+ actors on Starter, 500+ on Growth and 1,000+ on Pro, speaking 50+ languages — or create a custom avatar from your own clip and clone your voice. Custom avatar slots are a plan feature: none on Starter, 1 on Growth, 3 on Pro.
Product in Hand and Motion Control
Your product photo is placed into the actor's hand, and a performance can be transferred onto a character. These two formats are what make the output read as a product ad rather than a talking head.
Content Library and Ad Remake
Hundreds of real, high-performing UGC ads filtered by niche, style and format. Add your product image and dialogue and the system generates your version — starting from what already works instead of a blank page.
AI Flows canvas
A node-based canvas chaining image generation, product shots, video generation and editing into one flow, then running that flow across every SKU — the agency-scale answer to one-off generation.
Every leading model, one balance
Cinematic text and image-to-video across the current leading model families (MakeUGC names Seedance, Veo, Kling, Wan and image models on its homepage), all spending the same credits, with new models landing as they ship.
API and MCP included
API access is included in every plan at no extra cost, calls spend the same credits as the studio, and MCP connection is supported — programmatic ad production is not an enterprise upsell here.
Batch mode and editor
Generate ten variations at once, then finish in the editor with captions, music, B-roll and trims before exporting in up to 4K on Growth and above.
The free plan — the full truth
There is no free plan, so the truth section is about the $1 start instead. MakeUGC lets you begin any plan for $1; its FAQ is explicit that checkout shows the trial duration and renewal amount, and that the plan renews at the plan price unless you cancel from your account. Read that checkout screen — the $1 is an introduction to a $29–$79/month billed-yearly subscription, not a one-off purchase, and the yearly plans are the prices on the homepage.
The compensating honesty is on output rights. MakeUGC's FAQ states that you own every video and image you generate, can use them commercially on any platform, and that output carries no watermarks — and every paid plan's feature list includes watermark removal and all creation tools. So unlike freemium rivals, there is no watermark trap waiting at export; the thing to watch is simply the renewal date and whether your plan's actor count, export quality and credit allowance match your testing volume.
- • No free plan — the $1 start renews at the full plan price unless cancelled
- • Headline prices are billed yearly (Starter $29/month on annual billing)
- • Starter exports are capped at 480p/720p; HD, 2K and 4K start at Growth
- • Starter includes no custom AI avatars (Growth includes 1, Pro 3)
- • Starter runs 1 parallel job per media type; Growth allows 10 and Pro is unlimited

- + Product in Hand is the format product ads actually need, and it is built in
- + API included on every plan, spending the same credits as the studio
- + Content Library remakes de-risk creative: start from ads that already performed
- + Batch variations and Flows make weekly ad testing a system, not a chore
Cons
- − No free plan — evaluation costs a $1 trial that renews into an annual plan
- − Starter's 720p export cap and zero custom avatars push real advertisers to Growth quickly
- − Headline prices require annual billing; monthly billing costs roughly double per the page's savings claims
- − Believability of AI actors still varies by product category — test with your own product before scaling spend
Best for
- ✓ E-commerce brands testing many UGC ad angles per month
- ✓ Agencies producing ad variations across a client catalogue
- ✓ Founders willing to be cloned once and appear in every ad
- ✓ Teams that want programmatic generation through an included API
Not ideal for
- ✕ Anyone who needs a free tier before paying anything
- ✕ Organic creators making entertainment content rather than ads
- ✕ Advertisers who need one perfect hero video rather than testable variations
MakeUGC alternatives
See all alternatives →Arcads is the closest rival for actor-led UGC realism and is worth comparing output-for-output with your own product before committing. Creatify is cheaper and simpler — product URL to ad, free plan to start, paid from $10/month — but lacks MakeUGC's depth of actors, Flows and included API. Pippit suits TikTok Shop sellers who want publishing and shop links in the same tool. MakeUGC's case is the full testing system: library, actors, batch, flows and API under one credit balance, with clean commercial rights stated up front.
Zebracat
Zebracat turns text prompts or scripts into short vertical videos with AI visuals, voiceover and editing tuned for social platforms. It targets marketers and creators producing faceless short-form content at scale.
Arcads
Arcads generates UGC-style ad videos using AI actors, built for performance marketers who need many ad variations quickly. You provide product details and a script, and it produces creator-style talking videos without hiring creators or filming.
Creatify builds ad videos from a product link, generating scripts, avatars and edits aimed at direct-response marketing. It also offers avatar and batch creation features for advertisers producing many variations of the same ad.
