Our verdict
Best for stylized, anime-leaning video: restyle footage, animate characters and draft endlessly in Relax Mode — the rare credit tool where experiments on the right plan cost time instead of money.

What DomoAI really costs
DomoAI publishes a per-credit price on its pricing page — $0.015 per credit on Basic, $0.013 on Standard, $0.012 on Pro and Team — and translates allowances into output estimates (600 credits ≈ 150 images or ~85 videos on Basic). Taken at face value, a standard video costs roughly 7 credits, so Basic's month works out at about $0.11 per standard video ($9 ÷ 85).
But Relax Mode breaks the math in the customer's favor: on Standard and above, supported models generate without spending credits, so the marginal cost of a drafted video is zero and only Fast Mode finals consume the pool. A per-video card would therefore mislead twice — overstating the cost of drafts and understating the cost of premium Fast-only models like Seedance. We explain the model instead of printing cards.
Per-credit prices and output estimates are printed on DomoAI's official pricing page (checked Nov 2026) and are marked as approximations there. Relax Mode generations on supported models spend no credits, per the same page, so effective per-video cost depends on how much you draft in Relax versus render in Fast.
What is DomoAI?
DomoAI is a stylized-video platform. Its home turf is transformation: take text, an image or existing footage and turn it into animated, painted or anime-look video using 50+ style templates, character-to-video tools and talking avatars. Around that core it now hosts other makers' models — its pricing page lists Seedance, MiniMax H3 and Kling alongside its own DomoAI 2.5 — plus Omni Reference, which mixes image, video and audio references into one generation.
The feature that changes how it feels to use is Relax Mode. Paid generations run in Fast Mode and spend credits; on Standard and above, supported models also run in Relax Mode, a slower queue that spends no credits at all. That single mechanic makes DomoAI unusually good for iteration-heavy, style-driven work: you can draft twenty versions of a shot overnight and only spend credits on the final Fast render. The pricing page's footnote says it plainly — Relax Mode generates content without using credits, it just takes longer.
How DomoAI works
- 1Start on the free plan with starter credits and make a few stylized clips — enough to learn whether DomoAI's looks fit your content.
- 2Choose your route in: restyle an existing clip (video-to-video), animate a character, or generate from text or an image.
- 3Subscribe at Standard if you will iterate — Basic's 600 credits exclude unlimited Relax Mode, which is the feature that makes the tool economical.
- 4Draft in Relax Mode on supported models, spending nothing; shortlist the shots that work.
- 5Re-render the keepers in Fast Mode with credits for speed and longer durations (extended character-to-video lengths unlock on Pro).
- 6Finish with the built-in tools — lip sync, background replacement, 4K video upscaling — and export watermark-free on any paid plan.
Core features
Video-to-video restyling
Re-skin real footage into anime, painted, cinematic and other looks from 50+ style templates — DomoAI's signature workflow and the fastest route from a phone clip to a stylized scene.
Character-to-video
Animate a character with controlled motion; 5s and 10s on lower plans, extended 20s and 30s generations on Pro and Team.
Relax Mode
Unlimited slower generations that spend no credits, on supported models, from the Standard plan up. The pricing page confirms Relax generations do not use credits.
Hosted models
Seedance, MiniMax H3, Kling and image models run inside DomoAI — in Fast Mode only for the premium video models, so they are the credit spend to watch.
Omni Reference
Mix image, video and audio references in a single prompt (4–30 seconds, Fast Mode) for shots that need several inputs at once.
Talking avatars and lip sync
Talking avatars up to 20 seconds on lower plans and 60 seconds on Pro, plus lip sync, text-to-speech and motion control tools.
Upscaling and finishing
4K video and 6K image upscaling, background replacement and advanced video controls round out the editor side.
The free plan — the full truth
DomoAI's homepage FAQ says a free plan with credits exists 'to get you started' so you can create videos and images with no upfront cost; independent readings of DomoAI's pages put the grant at a small one-time starter allowance (15–30 credits depending on the source and date) — roughly one short test generation, with no monthly refill. That is a tasting spoon, not a tier: enough to see the restyling quality on your own footage, nothing more.
Two things we could not verify from DomoAI's own pages this session: the exact starter-credit count, and the free tier's watermark position. Third-party readings describe watermarked trial output, and every paid plan on the pricing page lists 'watermark-free outputs' as a paid benefit, which points the same way — but this review flags it as unconfirmed rather than fact. What is confirmed on the homepage is more generous than most: DomoAI states that all content you create can be used commercially, including ads and client projects, and that you own the rights to your generated content.
- • Free starter credits are one-time and tiny — about one short generation
- • No monthly refill on the free plan
- • Free-tier watermark position not stated on the pages read this session (paid plans are watermark-free)
- • Basic excludes unlimited Relax Mode: its 600 credits are the whole month
- • Monthly credits do not roll over on paid plans

Credits, per-credit prices, Relax Mode and watermark lines are from DomoAI's official pricing page, read this session (Nov 2026); the page's script-driven price figures are stated here as consistently reported from the same page in October 2026 checks, and the per-credit prices printed on the page corroborate them (600 × $0.015 = $9). Yearly billing saves 30%+ per the page toggle.

DomoAI alternatives
See all alternatives →Kaiber, in the main catalog, is the closest relative for stylized, music-reactive video from $10/month. Viggle, in this batch, wins when the motion must come from a real reference performance rather than a style. Runway is the step up for directed, photoreal generation and editing. OpenArt beats DomoAI on model breadth and consistent characters, but has no equivalent of Relax Mode's free drafting — for iteration-heavy stylized work, that feature alone can decide it.
Kaiber generates stylized, artistic video from images, text and music, and became popular for music videos and artist visuals. Its look leans creative and experimental rather than realistic, which suits musicians and visual artists.
Renderforest offers a large library of video templates — logo intros, promos, slideshows and explainers — rendered in the cloud. It has been a common first tool for small businesses making simple branded videos without editing skills.
Steve AI converts text into live-style or animated videos, with characters and templates aimed at training, explainer and marketing content. Its animation route suits creators making cartoon-style educational videos without drawing skills.
